The song was especially written for the movie. The Ballad Of Fat Melon Willie McClinton Jr. tells the story of a pianist from New Orleans who lost his right hand in an accident, which put an abrupt end to his career. Ben Binski shot a trashy, “camp”-style “rockumentary” mixed with live recordings of Dr. Will & The Wizards.

The movie was not able to achieve big successes on a commercial level; however, appropriately enough, it was shown at the Festival of the failed film.
